Pharmacy technician is a rewarding career that demands attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a busy work setting. Our 5-month, hybrid, instructor-led program will prepare students for the role in supporting Pharmacists. Students will meet 4 hours once a week for in class hands-on training while the rest of the supporting educational material is online.
Upon completion students will have the knowledge and skills needed to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam and begin their career.
What you'll learn
Pharmacology
Understanding the function of drugs and how the body reacts and processes medications.
Vaccine Administration
Student will learn appropriate immunization administration techniques in our hands-on injection training module.
Intro to Anatomy and Physiology
Students will learn and understand how the organs work and get an overview of the body systems
Top 200 Drugs
Specimen handling and labeling needs to be done accurately and with care. You will learn about quality assurance and quality control principles to requisitioning, specimen transport and processing.
Pharmacy Calculations
Students will gain knowledge in math geared to focus medication dosing, drug dilutions and concentrations
Pharmacy Law and Ethics
Students will learn and understand the importance of the laws involved in the pharmacy to provide a safe and legal practice

How long is the program?The Phlebotomy Technician is 8 weeks

Where do I go to get my book?Your instructor will give you your book on the first day of class.

What do I need to bring with me on my first day of class?Bring your laptop or mobile device. We like to make sure you can access your online learning account and show you how to navigate it.

Do I have to bring a copy of my immunizations on the first day of class?No, your instructor will go over any required immunizations on the first day of class.

Do I need to wear scrubs for my first day of the course?No, please come in comfortable clothes. Your instructor will let you know when it is time to wear scrubs.

Do you offer payment plans?Yes we do. We require a minimum deposit of $200 and the remaining balance can be split into two payments. No interest or fees.

What will my class schedule be?Depending on which class your register for, you will attend class one day a week for 6-8 hours or two days a week for 3-4 hours each class. Both options are 8 weeks in length.

Do I need a High School Diploma to enroll?All students are required to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.

What if I already have a current BLS/CPR certification? Am I required to attend?No, we include BLS/CPR as part of the program. You are not required to attend.
